Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Most people, even Christians, do not understand obedience.
That is why the story of Abraham and Isaac is so precious.
That kind of obedience is rare in the Church. And because of that obedience,
Abraham was called a friend of God.
Can He call you a Friend?
Are you willing to obey, or do you have to examine things before you can make
your decision? The answer to that question tells all.
I think the thing I love most about my husband is that if he knows for sure the Lord
has appointed a certain thing, he does it without veering and although it may cost him
more than he has, he does it anyway.
I watched him quit a fabulously paying job to be an unpaid pastor because the
Holy Spirit was quietly urging him to do so.
There was no evident means of earning as an alternative, and to this day, none
has appeared. Yet, the Lord has provided every need.
As a pastor, I have seen him agonize over straying sheep, yet when he knows
the Lord's direction, there is no power in existence that can move him from
obedience.
I have seen my husband take hits for things he never did, and leave it with the
Lord. I have seen him hear from the Lord about the tiniest physical needs of the
Church and have watched him put his own needs aside to take care of the Body
of Christ first.
It is a tremendous thing to rub elbows with a Soldier who has no agenda of his
own.
Are you a Soldier of the Cross? That means the death of the flesh. It means you
want what He wants and you are eager to submit.
My husband never feels on top of it.
     He never feels successful.
     He just moves on.
He is a Soldier in the Army of the King.
There is nowhere else to go!
