Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

You must not languish over your marriage.
Is your life a living sacrifice, or is that only possible when your mate is sane and
treats you with respect?
Is He limited by your spouse? Is it possible that all this time you have been
thinking your husband or wife has been impeding the work of the Lord?
     Not so.
     He is able.
     He is able!
And He who made water out of wine, and rose from the dead and fed the multitude,
is totally able to take your situation and reveal His own Life.
Be sure you are not mired down because you are treated poorly. You must pray to
be free in the prison before you seek to change the prison.
Brother or Sister, many, many are in this situation and it is daily painful. But He
never said He would eliminate storms. He did tell us how to behave and told us we
could walk on the water.
You are not in the situation by accident.
     The angels are watching.
He know what you are going through even more than you do.
Trust Him today in the situation. He will infuse you with a freedom from the things
that have been so painful.
You are probably right about what has been going on, and of course He cares.
But you must submit to Him in prayer - outloud - about the situation. Here is a
beautiful approach for those in the kind of snare we have described:

Lord Jesus, I gave you my life and I meant it. And now I find myself in a
situation that feels like a too-tight straight-jacket, and I can not see a resolution.
  But I can't go back.
Nothing thrills me like you, but I feel so trapped - I can't concentrate because of
the pain.
Lord tonight, please take the place that I am holding on to. Take the days that
remain and use them to reveal the Love that went to the Cross.
   Change me, please, oh Lord.

We sing a beautiful little song with the children:

Change me, change me, oh Jesus please:
All of my heart and life, Oh Jesus, seize!
Teach me to live out my life on my knees.
       Change me, change me, Jesus
