Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

     What are you longing for?
     Relief?
What does God's Word say? It is relevant to every situation and every emotional
distress.
I am hearing alarming things on the radio and television today - things said by
those who claim to be divinely appointed leaders. Last week I heard a Christian
preacher say it is fine to leave or divorce your spouse if you are treated unkindly and it
appears it will never change.
You can not find that in the Word.
There are scriptural circumstances such as adultery and desertion, and certainly
one may flee physical danger. But otherwise, we are to pray and to wait on Him Who
is the Deliverer.
Are you devastated financially and you constantly think of nothing else? You long
always for relief? Confess all known sin, and then ask to be led out of the wilderness.
It will come one day at a time, but it will come.
Is the physical pain such that you can not bear another day?
The One who gave Himself as a Ransom for Many understands, and will bring
relief. Why? Not only because He understands, but because He wants to be the object
of our longing.
God's people ought to crave His Presence and His Glory. There should be a deep
and almost desperate desire to love unconditionally.
There should be an unquenchable desire to be with the Body of Christ, and to
serve there.
Most of the time when the need for relief is consummate, it is because there needs
to be a consummate longing for Him. When the Holy Spirit is allowed to bring a
deeper, sweeter revelation of the Lord Jesus, there is a fountain of Grace that springs
up for the situation at hand.
The saying never looses its cleanness - look up and move on!
