You don't wait for a fire in the heart before serving, or loving, or exhorting.
The fire comes when the heart embraces obedience and the will bends into
His.
One of the most important things to learn as a Christian is, live according to
what He has said, and not according to feelings or circumstances.
Why is this so difficult for most? Because there has not been a decision to
leave this life behind.
Because there has not been a decision to take up the Cross - the place of
the death of the flesh.
Because there has not been a commitment to the One who is perfect.
The Christian who does not obey, lives in rebellion and will always try to set
his own standard.
The result?
Misery
Soldier, obey the Lord.
