Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

The book of Amos makes clear that human strength is worth nothing.
Of course, this is reinforced in many other passages of The Word. Why is
it then, that we strive so hard to be strong?
     Did you preach today?
How did it go?
If Jesus had been asked that question, he would have said that almost no one understood Him, people talked amongst themselves as He was speaking, lots of people left, there were hecklers, and after He finished, a number of men picked up stones and attempted to kill Him. Is that success? Yes, in God's economy. Soldier of the Cross, stop evaluating your own worth to the Kingdom. Stop trying to figure things out. You are not able to move even one of the stars, but the One who keeps them in place is certainly able to decide what is important for you. Do you stutter? Are you to small? Too fat? Too thin? Leave it with the Lord and give what you have and who you are to Him to use as He sees fit. There is simply nothing else. We serve a God who has always used the weak. He is not going to change.
