Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

You must understand that the Lord is going to answer prayer in the most
unexpected way.
     He does nothing else.
So, it becomes even more important to avoid prayer that limits God.
For example, if you are praying about a conflict in the church - perhaps
someone who is a trouble maker, or who is driven by a spirit that is not the Spirit
of God, it is easy to pray according to your experience or your immediate desire.
What is God's will in a matter such as this? He wills that there be unity in the
Body. He wills that the sheep be protected. He wills there be love and He
certainly has made it clear that certain things cannot be tolerated.
In this situation, it is so easy to pray like a chess player - move this person,
change that one. But we must look beyond the situation and take hold of what He
has said. We must pray that the spirit of division be driven out. We must pray
that the trouble maker will no longer be allowed to interfere with unity.
We pray for Love to knit the Body together.
And, we have no idea how God will answer. The offender may leave. The
offender may die. The offender may meet the Lord in a new way
You see if you simply pray that the person will leave or get right, you are
not allowing God the freedom that wise prayer allows.
Soldier of the Cross, we serve a God Who is far beyond our concept or
imagination.
Be sure your God is not too small.
