Sentimentality is a quicksand that suffocates the unction of many Christian workers.

Soldier of The Cross, we were created to obey. We were not created to live by any feeling at all. Ever. Under any circumstances.

We are not beings without feeling. We have a myriad of emotions, and they can all be useful. Anger , depression, resentment, jealousy, irritation, are all indicative of blindness.

We tend to think those feelings are brought about by someone else who commits wrong, or fails to recognize us. But it is not true. Those are reactions of the flesh, and the experience of those feelings indicates an attack of the enemy, and a need to go immediately into His Presence to unload the burden.

We have heavenly emotions: Love, Peace, Joy, compassion, etc. These are all experience by faith through choosing His commandments over sight.

Much of the tinme, when you are feeling badly for someone, experiencing a need to be liked, or longing to be the one who vindicates a wrong done to another, beware! That is sentimentality

Human loyalty is sentimentality.
Desperately wanting to protect our children from a punishment they deserve, is sentimentality.
Needing to fix someone who feels hurt is sentimentality.

Trying to make up for the past is sentimentality.
Needing to be liked is sentimentality.

The most dangerous one is the fear of hurting someone. That can be, and usually is, sentimentality.

Soldier, you must do the right thing. The thing indicated by God's Word. Of course there are times when the Spirit restrains or presses forward. But for the most part, there are no signs or messages to indicate the right move.

The right move is often the least safe move.

Know The Word.
Obey The Word.
Move forward by faith, and let Him settle the dust.
