Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Do not give a new believer a list of the things he must or must not do.

Of course he must be discipled. He must be taught to pray, and how to pray. He must be taught to read the Bible and how to read the Bible. He must be taught to love and how to love.

But if you try to micromanage him, especially telling him what all the things he may no longer do, that new Christian will be robbed of the opportunity to know the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

This is not to say babes in Christ can launch out on their own. But there must be the exercising of wisdom. The new believer must be guided and fed, so that he can learn to follow the Lord. He needs to be taught to be sensitive and to devour God's Word.

The new Christian must be part of a local assembly.

When these things are encouraged, the Lord has room to move in the heart and to woo that young brother.

And, you must faithfully pray for that one.
Those who you lead to Christ are your children in the faith and will look to you for guidance.

You must be always looking at Him.
