When the Lord answers prayer, the evidence of the answer retains the newness
that marks everything that comes from Him.
When prayer is uttered, it is answered. That is why there is so much power in
prayer. He listens keenly, and He swiftly rescues.
There are times when the answer is immediately manifested and other times it
seems He surely must not have heard.
The clouding veil comes from the the meaning of time in the human mind. The
Lord is not limited by time. Rather, He uses it creatively to shape our lives as well
as our relationship to Him.
So, when there is a clear answer to prayer, it has two elements: first, He
always answers in a way that exactly matches prayer, yet it is far better than we
could have imagined, and there is a little sweet surprise to it; second, it is
allays new. Even after a lifetime, the telling of answered prayer is a freshly
experienced testimony of the Love of an attentive God.
Soldier of The Cross, take prayer seriously. Expect the answer, but don't
set your own time table as the standard or His timeliness.
He has never forgotten anything, nor has He even been late.
