Who are the heroes of The Faith?

Certainly some are named in Hebrews 11. The same chapter describes many who are still without name as far as we are concerned. Yet, we know about them, and they are counted among "those of whom the world is not worthy. . ."

Soldier of The Cross, No great man or woman of the faith ever felt like a hero. As you have read for yourself, some roamed the mountains, barely surviving. No one beheaded or gored to death had the feeling of being a hero.

We look to those who have gone before. We see their substance and we look up at The One upon whom they were gazing. We see their steadfastness. We want to encourage others as they have encouraged us.

We walk by faith one step at a time. One hour at a time. One day at a time. We look away from the circumstances, because we are told not to walk by sight.

Then, we do the next thing as well and as wholeheartedly as we can.

We take Him at His Word. We live in a certain manner because He said to live that way. We speak in the way He wants us to. We spend our time the way He has asked us to.

We are not without power. We have the Indwelling Holy Spirit, and we are led. We are counseled. We are fed. We are loved.

Look up. Move on.
