- Do I think
we should be concerned about every little word that we say? Yes!
- The Bible
says that He "spoke the worlds into being". There are
countless passages about the impact of words and their effect.
Most people speak recreationally
whether they know it or not. Some folks have favorite things
to complain about, some love to fantasize, and others must constantly
recount past events.
What we must teach our children
is that the tongue creates. Unseen things are built and torn
down because of words. Obviously words are of impact beyond our
comprehension, otherwise the Creator of the universe would not
be named The Word.
A fine experiment would be
to carry around a recording devise all day and play it back.
Would there be any value? Would there be anything of significance,
or would it be spurts of dribble - worse yet, spurts of mumbling,
complaining, wishing, regretting, and stating fears because of
a lack of faith in a sovereign God.
- Learning
to speak begins first with what we don't say. After that,
we learn to agree with God, to have His Law always on our lips,
and to encourage the brethren - to "preach the Gospel and
herald the Truth, in season and out of season. ."
What is your mouth for, anyway?
If "the heavens declare the glory of God", then you
who can issue sound, do it!
