- If you really want to serve the
Lord, you must stop trying to figure things out and start learning
to see where He is, and follow Him.
One of the biggest traps
intended to stop the servant from serving is the temptation to
decide what is happening. When something is clear, it can be
seen. When something must be revealed before moving on, prayer
will turn on the light so that there is wisdom.
- But it is
serious error when God's people try to categorize and explain
things that cannot be understood until heaven.
When we are ill treated,
there is an almost urgent need to decide why there has been such
behavior, or worse, to review how we could have influenced the
situation differently.
He said we must identify with His
sufferings. That is not intellectual - it is experiential and
is applied by revelation.
He said if the world hated Him,
it would hate us more. That is not intellectual either. It is
something we experience, and when we submit and are content,
we can see Him.
The flesh always makes a mad scramble
to get a handle on things. The Spirit always presses to conform
to His image - and where the flesh is indulged, the Holy Spirit
is grieved and quenched.
