We have amazing
itches - that is, our flesh does. That is why the path on which we follow the Lord so often seems too narrow and without reward. It is natural (does not have to be learned) to complain, cry, and want things to happen now. It is, however, unnatural to the flesh (and must be learned) to wait on the Lord, resist going by sight, and withhold getting even. The sting has been removed from the power of the flesh in that, like the enemy, if there is resistance exercised by choice, the itch does subside, and inflammation occurs only when the offending area gets the wrong kind of attention. Did you tell the Lord you would live for Him? Did you mean it? |
