We who are in
Christ know that we have nothing as a result of our own efforts. All we have has been given to us because of grace - even the privilege to work, earn money, and spend it, comes to us by grace. As I was sitting in the middle of the symphony tonight, I was aware of all the talent around me, and of how the musicians consider their contracts to be a result of their own work and discipline. But God's Word still holds that unless God builds the house, the worker works in vain. Grace created gravity, and Grace still rules the universe with His Mighty Word of Power (Hebrews 1:1). This time of year, I particularly want to remember that I am saved by grace, sustained by grace, and as the beautiful old song says, "Grace will see me home!" |
