No matter how
much we know, it will never amount to even a scratch, until we
are in heaven, and remember that verse that says "knowledge
will cease"? That means that when we are in heaven, there will be no knowledge because truth will not be severed into parts. Truth will be there and will be shining. Here, when we get a little piece of the picture, we call it knowledge. That is why knowledge without revelation is so fruitless-even harmful- because it is just a severed, little piece of nothing. and yet, how vigorously the Church pursues knowledge. We don't need to know all about the Bible - we need to know the Bible. We must recognize the One whose name is The word. What a great verse it is, when Paul says he wants to make sure he is not seen as making a show of knowledge. Remember that? Then, when he talks about what is valuable and desirable for himself, he emphasizes recognizing then Lord, and intimately knowing Him. That is the difference between knowledge and learning. |
