I know there has been mention
of this before, but we are not allowed to be offended. When I am offended, I am in the wrong. The Bible doesn't teach that I am responsible for the sin of the other guy, but it does teach that I am to minister grace. Grace is about as far as you can get from being offended. Have you ever thought about offense as being emotional? Consider that when you are offended, you feel something. Since we habitually root around to find reasons to justify our sinful emotions, it usually doesn't feel like the huff originates with us - it must have been placed inside us by the offender! Of course, that cannot be so. Brothers, let us live as Children of God and members of the Royal Race. Let us learn obedience in this most difficult area. We numb ourselves to what is happening inside by daily ignoring our unkindnesses to others and by indulging in poutiness, complaint, and crankiness of every kind. The angels are watching Note is being taken. It is not the fault of the other guy - the buck stops with the Blood-bought Child of God! |
