When I stand before the Lord, I
want to be found faithful. What does that mean? All I know is that the word of God teaches that my time, energies, and attentions must be directed at the One I worship, and not polluted by attention yielded to other gods. It is easy to yield to a weekly television show that cannot be missed, the necessity for a particular condiment, or the need to have everyone around me like me and assure me about it all the time. My private intentions are made visible by the public display of my daily habits and the fruit of my mouth! We know there will be books in heaven. One of them, of course, is the Lamb's Book of Life. There will be other books, and we are not told what they will all be about. Because of the verses about our accountability for words, I believe some of these books will have our words recorded in them - all of our words ( minus those repented for and turned from!) Furthermore, since we are told to redeem the time, there will also be an accounting for the ways we have spent it, and what we have purchased with that time. I surely am not perfect. I can only slog on and do my best. But I am going to do that - even with my last breath - gazing upon Him, I am going to slog on and, in the power of the Holy Spirit and by the authority on my life because of the Blood, do my best, and trust Him to bring the victory in His time, and in His way. |
