How seriously have you considered
the fact that it was God who pointed out Job to satan? He said
"Have you seen my servant, Job?" It is a marvelous blessing and evidence of mercy and loving kindness that the Lord allows us the privilege of going through the fire. Can you be trusted in bizarre situations? Do you understand that you are on display in the unseen to the powers of either side? Unfairness and unpleasant jolts are wonderful for us because they force choice - of both thought and action. When you read a thrilling missionary story, the thrill does not come from the terrific thanksgiving dinner they enjoyed or their splendid retirement program. It would never stir your heart if the most interesting evidence of God were that the servant never had a problem. 'Fess up, now! Isn't that what you really want? No problems? You can't have Jesus and pursue that kind of existence. He reveals Himself against a backdrop of weak humanity going through things that humans cannot handle. The Blood qualifies us to approach the throne and we must learn to respond to circumstances and unfairness in the Holy spirit. The King of Glory was stripped, beaten and spit upon - for you. He died a public and painful death - for you. He rose on the third day - for you. He would like to raise you up in resurrection power and make His likeness in you. |
