I urge
you to memorize. You don't need to remember today's verse tomorrow. You
must memorize it not as a religious exercise because it is good, but because
your mind needs to chew on His reality. When you memorize daily, the priorities of life begin to change. One sees what is really going on. When the enemy attacks or things don't go as we think they ought, the day's verse shoots into the mind, and the heart turns around to stand before the Throne to bow in humble acceptance. Say the first sentence of the verse out loud - many times. Then say the next sentence. Say them together. Do this over and over, and soon, you will get it. It is important to be exact. Check the Book if you can't remember a word. Don't be careless. I am often asked how I select a verse. I don't have fancy process, and I don't look for a whopper. I simply take the verse from the ones I read in my quiet time, and if it is from the "begets", well, they were written by the same Holy Spirit. Please, please do this. It is not hard. Yes, you can! Everything will fight it except the Lord. But you will experience a victory and a transformation that will be evident to all around you. "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." |
