Word is more real Than the way that you feel! You know this little saying is true, but do you agree with it? If you really agree with something, you are in harmony with it and it is reflected in your life. All too often we take on the impact of our feelings and think we must feel differently before we are in right standing with God. But emotions can be easily sprayed on us by the enemy, and the feeling feels real. That is why we call it a feeling. There is no warning ahead of time, just the sickening thud of rejection, the agony of failure, the panic of what might be, the blaze of anger, or the passionate zing of a lustful storm. We are much too concerned about how we feel. We have a will! And the Bible gives clear direction about the exercising of that will to obey God. When we stand before Him, it will not be terribly effective to say ," Well, you see, I... um.. I felt so strongly. . ." We are to be held to the standard of Truth, not illusion. The Bible tells us how to react in a Godly manner to just about anything you can think of. It doesn't matter if we feel like it, it only matters that we obey. We obey first, and then the Lord brings a healing that, over time, becomes a protection against the button-pushing that satan constantly tries. It is not phoney to do the right thing! It is obedient. It is real. And it reveals Jesus. The world doesn't need to see you "just be yourself". That is poppycock! The world needs to see the One Who gave His life as a ransom for many. |
