Though He slay me, yet
shall I trust Him. Do you recognize that declaration from Job? Determinations such as his are predetermined. I must decide now that whatever the Lord wants to do tomorrow is best for me, and that He is in control. Most of us wait until it is too late and we are devastated and already getting bitter before we are aware the attitude is wrong. All of the things that God has recorded in the Bible are weird humanly. We certainly would not have had Noah erecting a huge ark in the middle of dry land - especially when no one had even heard of rain. If I were feeding the five thousand (plus women and children) I would have held out for at least one little swordfish or tuna. I would never have tried to rip up a handful of food to feed that crowd. Truth be told, I'll bet you would have put all that armor on the young David when he went out to meet Saul. (that is, of course, before reading the story). And I would never have allowed the King of Glory to appear to die helplessly on a cross in front of a jeering crowd, I don't know how to bring God glory!! But He does. So I must learn to let Him have His way. We are constantly tested in these things, and I would never pass any test, but for the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah that each test purifies and brings out what is really there! |
