Don't forget that God did
not send a committee. He did not send a letter. He did not send
an angel. None of these were to be our redemption. He sent His Son. So great was His love, that He designed our salvation to be the result of love, and only love - the Blood of the only begotten Son of God! Love never stands still. It always has a target. There is no such things as someone who is right with God and does not do and say things that are loving - not in the way that the world does them, but in the way the Holy Spirit leads them. You don't start by feeling like it, you start by just obeying. Do you really want to show the love of Jesus? It will mean loving the unlovely, and it will mean seeking them out. Nursing home residents are not going to ring your doorbell. You must go to them. They smell like urine, throw up often and don't know who you are. But there is a deep and beautiful ministry there. Love stretches beyond concept and comfort. Love responds to a divine vision, not what makes it feel loved. Do you really believe the world is lost? The Lord certainly didn't die for a saved world! Don't look for someone who makes you feel good - look at the first person under your nose, and then the next, and the next. Lord, please take me and teach me to reach out with your touch. Teach me to love the ones you love, not the ones that I choose from a line up. Use me as a living sacrifice to reveal the personality of the One who gave His life as a ransom for many. |
