The enemy
uses many things to interfere with the work of the Lord. One of the most common is lust. The one who is lusting understands there is a problem and knows that a choice must be made. He may not feel like he has a choice, but the problem has assaulted him between the eyes and he knows something is not right. A far more subtle problem and infinitely more successful is the damage that satan tries by to cause by assasinating the saints. The weapon is always fact mixed with lies, and the initial wielder is the direct mouthpiece of the enemy. Almost always the wielder is a woman and the issue is power or lack of it. It is almost never about a whole church or ministry, but is usually about a specific person - most often an anointed servant of the Lord. This kind of talk is more insidious that gossip because it is spoken with the deliberate intention of persuading the listener into a position against the one spoken against, and the only way that listener can take that position is to receive anger against the one being spoken about. Often the wielder will first try to infect a woman against the offending servant, but if no woman will take up the cause, whoever is handy will get an earful. One hundred percent of the time, the one being spoken to is a third party and has either minimal or no knowledge of what is being told. The target is not there to defend himself, and the one who is made angry is infected with a mental torture that feels like relief will only come when the one who spoke to him has been vindicated and the offending saint is punished. Demons seem to draw a particular energy from this kind of activity, and they also seem to have a freer access to harass God's people and impede the work of the Lord. The Kingdom of Heaven is not run by fault-finders, nor can the one who is so used by satan able to recognize the Lord or come under His authority. There is no glory and no presence of the Lord when an ear is given to the same spirit of complaint that was found in Israel. We must learn to recognize these things. Time is short. The fields are ripe with harvest and the laborers are few. |
