Oh,
how little prayer there is.
What, if anything, do you
pray about each day?
Examine the things that you
have consistently and over time brought to the Lord. You will
seein that specific thing or area, He has revealed, taught, and
exposed.
Yes, there are times when
we pray about emergencies and heartaches in the lives of those
around us, but the things in which the Holy Spirit is allowed
room in prayer over time - those things give us a precious glimpse
into the creative ways of God.
Our way is usually to try
the fastest and least painful method to the best result our tiny
human minds can access, but He knows so much better.
If a soldier in the army
of the Lord is a musician, he may pray fervently about improvement,
but he certainly will not awaken the next day to find himself
playing more brilliantly than the day before.
The Lord will teach him the
building blocks. The Lord will show him where he has not been
able to hear things so that he can pray those areas through.
The Lord will introduce him to techniques to use and they must
be applied with craftsmanship and discipline.
Time is a beautiful revealer
of eternity.
The Lord does not show us
the trail of His having been there, rather He shows us where
He is.
When we pray for others,
we must understand that He is waiting for the prayers of the
saints before He will do things, but He will not do a rush job
just because we are insecure.
He is thorough. He will go
deeper than the bottom and clean out places that can not even
be named by human lips - we know so little.
He always answers prayer
in creativity, in glory, and in the best way- invariably a way
we could not have described.
He is a pure Lord and a God of
quality.
He never, never turns a deaf
ear and He always, always gives us what is best for us.
