When God's love
settles in a human heart it is in the power of the Holy Spirit and it does not go away, because it is a Parent's love. There is no love so forgiving, so constant or so broad as a parent's love - at least that is the way it is when things are in order.And when the Divine Parent dwells in a man, that present love absolutely can not be snuffed out. The one whose deepest desire is to serve the Master will be given a flow of love that few will recognize or understand. That one will be hurt, misunderstood, and even betrayed. but the love will remain active and directional. Are you willing to be a vessel, shaped for the flow of that love? It means seasons of humiliation and disgrace. It means those you love the most will misunderstand you at times, and precious human intimacies will slip through your grasp. But the Lord has promised that His ways are far beyond ours, and that there are pleasures that can not be described, waiting for those who love and serve Him. He brings a love - it is an eternal love and it sees, sustains, and cherishes the loved one even when things look bleak and feel even worse. It is heaven on earth. It brings stability to the available believer and healing to all around. Satan hates it. It wins the heart of the Lord. Learn to love the battle! |
