The loneliest
thing in all the world is to be with someone who can talk about
only himself. He is not really interested in you, and even though he tries to listen to what you have to say, he is only alive and into the moment when he is giving you insight into himself. I am deeply grateful that when I come to the Lord, He waits breathlessly to hear what I have to say, and He cares about each word. What I am not able to say, He even articulates for me in a language I do not know - the Spirit speaks in "groanings and utterances" that are not interpreted by human ears - so deep is His interest. He cares about the wording of my sentences and yet, if I am awkward and stumble over a lack of words I need not worry - He knew all along what was trying to say. On top of all that, if I ask, He will supernaturally give me words to ask for things and tell him things in such a manner that I may know him better. What a Friend we Have in Jesus; All our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer. |
