- You have responded
to the calling of your name.
You must remember that He called
you by the name He gave you, and you responded. You often feel
dull and spiritless, but because you answered Him by inviting
Him into your life and accepting the gift of salvation, you have
entered the ultimate realm of stimulation.
- The problem
is, you can't be stimulated and excited by and about heavenly
things until you deliberately mark an end to seeking stimulation
in the way the rest of the world does.
- How does
the world try to feel alive? Hollywood, vacations, shopping,
parties, drugs, alcohol, sex, and we could go on for a long time.
There comes a time when the
Christian must agree with God that his greatest thrills are the
". . .treasures hidden up in Christ Jesus. . ." and
he must consciously look to the Lord for his enjoyment.
What a rare thing.
When we affirmatively turn
from the things we have habitually sought and investigate the
Lord, we are then ready for the adventure of faith.
There is no thrill, no adventure,
no pleasure that can compare with what the Lord has even in
this life for His available servants.
