Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

I am always amazed at the number of people there are who want to talk at me and not with me.
When I go places to speak I have many folks come up to me who have a need to seize someone that they think represents something desirable, and talk at them.
That kind of Christian is so busy justifying his own lack of faith or anger or whatever, that there can be no interactive talking.
       He cannot listen.
It is the tragedy of our generation. We must listen for the Lord. When He said "call unto me, and I will answer. . ." how can He be heard if we are talking all the time?
I am always amazed when there is a phone call and the caller does not bother to inquire about my availability.  That Christian has a high pressure stream issuing forth, and it presses away the person of the Holy Spirit.
Brothers and sister, listening for the Lord is an affirmative effort, and He will not scream over my hearty self-justifications.
Remember that the wind blew and the thunder crashed, and then He spoke in a still small voice.
