- Sometimes
the land must be taken by force.
That means that when God gives
a direction, we do all there is to do while leaning and waiting
on Him at the same time.
How can that be?
- Isn't that
the great burning twenty-first century question?
It is the rare occasion that God
will give a specific witness ahead of time that a particular
event should occur. Many heroes of the faith have know they were
called to the mission field, but have not had an equally specific
indication as to when to go or sometimes, where to go.
But go they did, and there was
no holding them back even though all hell always tried, usually
through other Christians.
We are told to knock on doors and
to ask and to seek. but all my life I have heard believers say
they would not budge until they knew "God's will".
Although the scriptures teach the opposite, they would ask once
and sit down to wait for a clear indication so that the next
move would be safe, easy and without complications.
No asking, seeking or knocking.
(In the Amplified Bible it say "ask and keep on asking.
. ." etc.)
We are to follow Him. We are to
look for Him. We are to obey and respond to the need for harvesters.
Those who will go out without guaranteed support and guaranteed
welcomes are also not subject to being sentimentally stirred
up, and they will ride through persecution and bizarre hardships.
That is taking the land by
force.
- So
is walking by faith in the home and loving when there is only
rejection.
- So
is singing and memorizing when you don't feel like it.
So is giving your last dollar
when your own needs have not been met yet.
- So
is inviting that unbearable, difficult person to church.
So is keeping silent and
not uncovering a brother.
Brothers, on every hand is
the promised land, and we must take it by the force heaven has
given us - humble obedience..
