Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Periodically, we tend to take inventory of ourselves, and either we assess all the right things we have done and add them up, or we decide we have not accomplished anything and our lives are not as valuable as so-and-so.
Remember this: Heaven will not measure the success of anyone's life by any human standard that you can think of.
These are the things that will be absolutely without value in heaven:
     money
     college degrees
     awards
      your children's school successes
      your car being clean
      having a great retirement plan
      owning a summer camp
      a yearly vacation
      fame
      power
all bills paid on time and a working budget
      . . .
What will matter is our willingness to do with or without these things. We go on record if we held them as priorities or if we knelt and submitted so that God could give them or take them.
Is it possible that we don't understand?
We may not live like the rest of the world. Others can consider living by a perfect budget - you may not. Not if you want to serve the Lord. Others may be compelled to justify themselves in all situations. You may not if you are going to serve the Lord.
Take heart - we are sojourners and pilgrims in a foreign land, and we have the privilege of knowing it now so that we can live accordingly.
