- The
old nature's craving for power is great, and the believer who
is not in prayer and in the Word has no discernment by which
to detect the problem.
The only escape is the control
of the indwelling Holy spirit and the gazing on "Him who
we have touched with our own hands."
Some folks naturally crave control
overtly while others express their control in retreat. When there
an interruption in the flow of Spirit control, immediately there
is flesh control and there is no in-between.
It's sort of like spinach
between the front teeth - much easier to see in others than in
ourselves. But the tendency is there.
Praise God, we have the Blood!
And if allowed, its eternal and pervasive power will set the
prisoner free, and old habits can be broken.
I don't "improve".
I don't "work on these things". I don't stop to figure
out the sin. Instead, I must turn and look to the One Whose Blood
covers, frees, and more than makes up for my imperfections.
The thing that will open my eyes
and bring healing is not the saying of Jesus' name over and over
like a mantra - it is the yielding wholly - the consummate
submission to the One Who died and gave His life as a ransom
for many.
