the wee hours of the morning, the world is still, and it is most definitely
the best time to talk to the Lord. Why is that? I think it is because there is no distraction. If I am sleepy, I stand, and that problem is settled. The phone will not ring, there will be no knocks on the door, and there are no appointments in the next few hours. It is a period of time when there is extra freedom to concentrate and to linger. What's more, I have found Him to be quite eager to awaken me if I ask. My body is not always so eager, but the price is small. The earnest, lean prayer of early morning is like no other. |
