- It is always
good to meet another Christian.
There seems to be a divine excitement that
is stirred when two have fallen in love with the same One.
The problem comes of course, when there
ought to be love, and competition arises. Most of the time when
I meet other believers in America, the first inclination the
person has is to try to inform me about how well taught they
are. That makes for a pretty bleak experience.
First and foremost, informed does
not mean beans. And most (not all) of the people I meet who are
rabid about a charismatic expression do not get their inspiration
from the One I serve. Then we have a real problem, because two
Christians can not possibly agree in prayer when one is ignoring
the other and praying loudly in another language.
If two can not pray together, then
there is no fellowship. If there is no fellowship, someone is
walking in darkness. That is what the Bible says.
I'm sorry, but that is the way
it is. You can whitewash it and try to dilute it, but the plain
truth is that those who actually long for and serve the risen
Lord are few and far between.
BUT - those who do, do not condemn
others, they do not gossip about others, and they do not consider
themselves better. They simply grieve sweetly and they love.
We need more knee work and less
mouth work!
