Sampson did
everything wrong, yet, the Bible says that he did the thing
God gave him to do. While we have a responsibility to do all we can to obey, it is important to remember that it is God that accomplishes His will, and not us. Sampson chased women, exposed himself to be an amazing fool to a woman who betrayed him, and dishonored his vow as a Nazarite. But when it was all said and done, God had His way. We do THE NEXT THING without giving in to self-vindication or judgment, and the Lord does the rest. I am not advocating disobedience, but am pointing out that the Lord uses what He has, and if I want Him to use me, it does not mean that He is going to make me perfect. Sampson had his eyes put out, and there were other unpleasantries that resulted from his sin and foolishness. but God still used him, because he went in the direction of destroying the enemies of God. I cannot see the future and I do not understand the past. The Bible says I do not need to have a handle on either. I have a Living Lord who listens, cares, and watches, and He will see me through. |
