Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

There has never been a deep, sweet, complete infilling of the Holy Spirit without the "fire" and the "flood".
What boring stories the saints of old would have written, had they told us all about perfect lives without conflict or unfairness.
That, of course, is the thing we all secretly crave.  Our flesh wants that kind of control, and there is nothing we can do about that - it is not going away.
But what we can do is set our hearts on the things that are above. Even though the flesh never stops squawking and flapping, the demand really does diminish into the background, and the glories of the true treasures call to the soldier.
The famous hymn that talks about God's leading His children through the flood and the fire also says He leads us away from the mire and away from the clay. The mire and clay are places where nothing is happening. Nothing can grow, there is no action, and feet are planted so deeply in the earth that there can be no moving onward.
Yet, this world's illusion is that where there is no tumult, there is peace.
Brothers and Sisters, I have determined not to live in the mire. I am going to seek the treasures that are above. and they must be SOUGHT!
It is time to tell the Lord that you will welcome whatever He wants to bring. It is not necessary to submit to the fire, but it is essential that you submit to the Lord in the fire.
He can't be found anywhere else!
