says, there is "Victory in Jesus." And don't you forget it! From all the letters, calls, and e-mail I receive, my sense of the Christian world today is, Christians have forgotten that they are engaged in battle. Warfare. And there is no loosing. The problem is, there is a sense of loss when the soldier cannot see the turning of the tide, or when the enemy is grinning from ear to ear. The old saints of the faith have learned to rely on the words written by the Holy Spirit rather than the way things seem. Why the old ones? Because it is not possible to learn without standing in the middle of the whizzing arrows. Those are the times of decision, and those are the times of caving in to sight, or standing on the integrity of the Word of God. He is not teasing you. He has not forgotten you. Furthermore, He has custom-designed this situation for your good. The One who gave His life for you has not banished you to intellectual exercises or emotional stimulation. He cares far more than that. "Cast your cares on Him, For He careth for you!" |
