Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know when the Lord is present in someone's life, but it does take the Holy Spirit.

If a Christian has learning for any reason other than the desperate craving for the presence of God, he is already deceived. He will evaluate each word spoken and each deed done according to what he knows to be correct and the Holy Spirit is already quenched.

A man chooses what will stimulate Him. He chooses it in prayer - that is, if the raw presence of God is requested and pressed for, he will see and recognize Him. If that is not the constant prayer, and if he does not seek out others who want the same thing, he will automatically be stimulated by and have a constantly itching dissatisfaction for either more knowledge or a mirror of his own experience. In fact, most of the born-again world falls into this trap, and many, many think they are over the line, but do not know why they are constantly nagged by something and feel out-of-joint.

Having the language and fun facts and even loving to hear the best ones speak does not mean there is sight. It just means the person has language, facts, and can be stimulated by the things that are more than that to those who have the Holy Spirit.

We have fallen into a distressing place today because many are led to believe they are sighted when in fact, they are blind.

Are these folks harder to win?

Yes, almost impossible. Not because they consider themselves to be the cream of the crop, but because it seems that not many recognize the plight of these people, and there is so little prayer.

When a lost man is encouraged to behave as one already sighted, he becomes dull to the things of God, and his flesh becomes trained and educated. It takes supernatural discernment to see the difference.

Jesus called these people tares.

And he loves them. He said we could not do the purging because we would create damage.

But we must watch and pray.

We may not assume because of language or education or even agreement that someone is OK.

We must see Jesus, and not with human eyes. We may not be lazy and we may not be unloving. Knowledge and experience did not go to the Cross - Love did.
