Walking
with the Lord makes everything new. It isn't like opening a new package, since a few minutes later, the contents are a few minutes old. It is a dimension of newness that is untouched by the passing of time and cannot be marred by events. God created time, but He is not limited by it and He is never late. We would like him to be earlier, but that is only because we dabble in the sin of worry. We want our fears of time to be relieved by the Lord's unnecessarily early evidence of rescue. Was He late for Lazarus? After all, four days in the tomb amounts to a decaying body. But when He said "Lazarus come forth!", Lazarus walked out of the tomb and later than late wasn't late at all. If only we were eager to learn to trust Him. How He delights in those who pursue Him and are not just willing to learn of Him, but put all their energy into focusing their desire on Him. Newness of life - like a sparkling spring - to be found in Christ! |
