We have vast
skill when it comes to making excuses. When we are really submitted to the extent that our prayer lives release the Lord to make His likeness in us, we stop making excuses. What makes the difference? The transition from control to submission. The believer who has given up control of his life does not say "I am so unhappy because. . . " His respect for the Lord does not let His mind entertain those thoughts. He may spend a lifetime resisting temptation, but after a while, even the strongest lure to independence becomes repulsive. The Holy Spirit teaches us Who is right, not what is right. That is the difference. |
