You have a biblical
responsibility to fill your ears and your mouth with the things
that declare and agree with the Word of God. It is not so difficult. A passive person will find it impossible, but a passive person is also living in paralysis resulting from sin. We are told to have the Word in our mouths always, and to have it in our minds always. It should be declared, heard, and thought about. You must say and sing the things that should be heard. It is your job to fill the air around you with the sounds that emanate from an obedient mouth. It is work and it takes physical motion, but you can do it. This does not happen just by having the Christian radio or TV station on all the time. This is different. This is a result of the Holy Spirit being allowed to use your faculties to declare the reality, works, faithfulness, and mercy of the Lord Jesus. We need to shape up. We have become a soft, squishy church, content to let an electrical appliance do all the work, and we have substituted a Christianized haze for the freedom of obedience. The air around us must be filled with song. The air around us must be filled with declarations of faith. The air around us must be filled with the review of what God has done. The air around us must be filled with scripture - MEMORIZE! The air around us must be filled with Jesus. |
