Heavenly riches
are just that - heavenly. They are not earthly and they don't look earthly. That is why the Bible tells us not to look at the "rich" who are evil and wonder what is wrong with us. It is vital to speak about these things constantly in the home, so that children hear over and over what God's economy really is. In a world which is getting more and more geared toward luxury and wide-spread leisure, the pressures on a child can be dispelled easily by the obedient tongue of a Godly parent. Do not be lazy and think that children will see these things with age - we are to instruct constantly. If there is a lingering problem in this area, choose some Bible verses and memorize them as a family. Sight is God's way of inoculating against the virus of worldliness. and the Word is a Light, allowing believers old and young to see the Lord, and follow His ways. |
