There
is an exquisite joy afforded to the obedient soldier. It is more than happiness, and it can not be snuffed out by grief or pain. It is a supernatural joy that is found by living in the release that a walk of faith brings. When a Christian makes decisions, adopts attitudes, and spends time by faith, he pulls away from the things that create leaks which allow anxiety and negativity to seep into life. That believer can be planted a little more deeply each day in the soil he in which was intended to be permanently - heavenly soil! As long as we live in a fallen world, there is always a battle raging around us, but do not forget that Psalm 91 promises that the believer who dwells in the "secret place of the Most High" will see the threatening events happening, but will be "an observer only". Those who determine to live on God's terms have stepped out, not into a scary abyss, but into the everlasting arms. |
