Sometimes
we pray to a God who is only capable and kind.
Our God, however, is immeasurable
beyond those qualities. We know He is not only capable - He is
able! And He is omnipotent. He is also more
than kind, and the Word tell us He is One known to His own as
a God of mercy and loving kindness.
That is one of the reasons I love
to stand during my private prayer time. I am forced to address
His greatness and my incapability. I physically
acknowledge I have an audience with Him.
I expect His answer because I know
He is listening. I want to be efficient and respectful, and yet
I can almost see into the listening eyes.
We have been born into a Royal
Race, and we must learn to pray in that way. We must not preach
to Him (usually done in public praying) and we must not avoid
prayer just because the body presents a barrier that takes breaking
through in order to pray effectively. We have:
One Who can.
One Who does.
One Who will.
