Loving God does
not mean feeling something for Him! The first and foremost commandment concerns this, and that means we may not wait until we have a feeling or sense of motivation. It means that to fulfill the commandment, we must obey God. Simple, isn't it! I will never have a feeling for the Lord that I have when I hold my grandson or when I look into my husband's thoughtful eyes. As I learn to obey, I am shown the hidden things, and then I am in awe. I can be moved to tears, but it is not an emotion. Rather, it is sight. This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit - to give sight. Stop thinking that others feel more than you. Feeling counts for little. Obedience counts for much! |
