Spiritual
integrity results in a glad heart.
Like the law of gravity, there
are certain principles God has created and they will not see
a change in this life. For example, an honest man who respects
others will not have the sting of guilt or the dullness of a
seared conscience coming to those who are cruelly blunt, in the
name of honesty.
There are equations given to us
by the Lord, and they are unfailing. The Soldier of the Cross
who marches on because God has said to, and because God has said
"Take courage. . .". - that one will have a glad heart.
He will have it in pain and sorrow and it will only be seen by
others who have the same glad heart.
Why have the great martyrs
cried out to God asking grace for those lighting the fires and
releasing the lions?
They have experienced glad
hearts.
Remember this little song?
Oh, say but
I'm glad, I'm glad!
Oh, say but I'm glad, I'm
glad!
Jesus has come and my cup's
overrun;
Oh, say but I'm glad!
