Your life
is a composite of your priorities in prayer.
This doesn't mean that all
we ask for we get - we know there are "no" answers
to some things, and other things are being granted, but the working
of them is still out of our sight.
But it is possible to tell how a man
prays, or even if he prays by spending just a little time
with him.
Of course, most of us don't often
meet those who really pray. A Soldier of the Cross
will be faithful in prayer, and his life will reflect it. He
will not speak against others nor will he be reactionary. He
won't try to protect his finances, but he will give all he has
to protect the work of the Lord.
Our praying soldier has the most
enjoyment when he is with another praying soldier, and their
conversation will always reflect things most important to them.
And of course that is a loud clue.
If a man wants things he can see, he
will go after them. But if a man wants things in the unseen,
he can only go after them in prayer.
It takes very little time to tell
what the theme of someone's life is - I want mine to be "dead
to the world and alive unto Christ!"
