Have you
noticed that it is easy to feel strongly when you are offended
or when something you want is taken away?
A struggle is not needed to get
stirred up. When you are misquoted or robbed, it does not take
any effort on your part to be passionate about what has happened
or not happened.
Then why, oh why, does it seem
to be so difficult to get Christians passionate about serving
the Lord and being Soldiers of the Cross?
Because it is an operation not
born of feeling, but of faith.
We do things or abstain from them
and behave in certain ways simply because He told us
to or not to. No other reason. We do not wait for feeling
or passion to do what we know is the next thing.
And for the Soldier of the Cross,
there is always a next thing. It is never hard to see,
and we move forward because He said!
