Satan will do
all he can to get you focused on the future or the past. We understand we are not to worry about tomorrow and that includes fretting about things undone or making lists of alternate plans in the event of God's failure to sustain us. One thing not well understood by many Christians is that unless it is to testify to God's glory, it is foolish to rehash the past. Oh, how tempting it is to review and rehearse things that have gone wrong, or hurts incurred. The thoughts brew and soon emotions bubble up as though the thing were happening afresh - only now, the same thing has happened over and over in the mind. Soldier of the Cross, there is much work before us. The Lord might come tonight - let Him find us laboring Today, not in review of the yesterday or fear of tomorrow. |
