Would you
be free from the burden of sin?
As the song says, there is power
in the Blood!
The great prison of the lost is
the inability to get rid of sin. Nothing works but the Blood.
All around us, we see man's creativity in attempting to disguise,
shake off, and deny sin, but it is still there.
The Christian is in such a different
position, because he has accepted the fact that the Blood is
shed for him personally, and he has the right to seek forgiveness.
Why then, are so many Christians
in denial about sin in both attitude and action? His open arms
still make it easy to confess and find the experience of cleanness.
It is because the flesh still wants
to disguise, shake off and deny sin. The flesh is not redeemed
by the Cross, it is condemned by the Cross.
So, although a way has been freely provided,
there seems to be a resistance to the exercising of this beautiful
privilege. Just as so many Israelites resisted glancing up at
the serpent held up by Moses, the flesh resists repentance today.
When I confess and repent before
the Lord, it means I admit I cannot fix myself.
It means I am wrong.
It means I must do something differently.
It means I must submit to the standard
of Another.
It means the death of the flesh.
Oh how freeing it is to walk in
the unburdened design of the One whose Blood bought us.
OH, precious is the
flow,
That makes me white as snow.
No other fount I know!
Nothing but the Blood of Jesus. |
