God's love
always flows from choice.
Some believers are under the mistaken
impression that when they encounter the unlovely, there ought
to be some intergalactic wave that hits them and they should
be immediately overwhelmed by irresistible love for the person
whom they otherwise would find revolting.
I don't find that anywhere in God's
Word!
In fact, we are taught that it
takes the putting aside of self to really love.
Yes, it is supernatural, but at
the same time, the flow stems from obedience and nothing else.
The Soldier of the Cross who makes
himself available in prayer will experience the release that
love provides, so that he can obey the Lord.
Love is a behavior.
Love is a chosen attitude.
Love follows hard after the example
set for us by the One Who gave His life as a Ransom for Many.
Love is available because of the
Blood and must be chosen.
